What is a vehicle RC check?

The Registration Certificate (RC) is the official record of a vehicle registered with a Regional Transport Office (RTO) in India. An RC check lets you look up a car or bike's registration details using just its number plate, so you can confirm the vehicle is genuine before you buy, sell or rent it on Dealra.

What details can you check?

  • Registration details: registering RTO, registration date and how long the registration is valid.
  • Vehicle details: maker and model, vehicle class, fuel type, colour, emission norms, manufacture date, and chassis and engine numbers.
  • Ownership: owner name, number of previous owners and whether the vehicle is financed.
  • Validity: insurance, fitness certificate, road tax and PUC (pollution under control) expiry dates, with expired documents highlighted.

How to check RC details

  1. Log in to your Dealra account.
  2. Enter the vehicle registration number without spaces, for example TN58AH5232.
  3. Tap Check RC Details to see the results.
