eChallan Check
Enter a vehicle registration number to instantly check pending and paid traffic challans.
What is an eChallan?
An eChallan is an electronic traffic fine issued by the traffic police or transport department when a vehicle is caught breaking traffic rules, such as over-speeding, jumping a signal, riding without a helmet or driving without valid documents. Challans are linked to the vehicle's registration number, so unpaid fines stay with the vehicle.
What does the eChallan check show?
- The total number of challans issued against the vehicle.
- Which challans are still pending and which have been disposed.
- The challan number, date, offence details and fine amount for each challan.
- The total fine amount and the amount still payable.
How to check challans
- Log in to your Dealra account.
- Enter the vehicle registration number without spaces, for example TN58AH5232.
- Tap Check Challan Details to see the results.
Buying a used car or bike? Check for pending challans first and ask the seller to clear them before the vehicle is transferred to your name.
How to pay a pending challan
Pending challans can be paid online on the official Parivahan eChallan portal using the challan number or vehicle number, or in person at the traffic police or the court named on the challan. Paying on time avoids the case being sent to court and keeps the vehicle's record clear when you sell it.
